what inspires me?

The desire to portray the true beauty of the person in front of my camera. We look at ourselves in the mirror daily. But only through the lens we can see something subtle and special, get to know the other side of self, probably for the very first time.

It all started with photo film, printed Kodak shots, diafilms for wall projector, dozens of photo albums, and videotapes. In the 2000s when I was growing up, no one yet heard of camera phones — life was still analog and the secondary role of a bathroom was for film development. That was my first encounter with photography.

I was only an observer at that time, dreaming of having some kind of a tool that would allow me to keep moments of my life forever. Without having a certain goal for that, I´ve always wanted to capture things I could see, something so special that, as it seemed to me, no one else noticed.

Luckily, it was also the time when photography stopped being camera-exclusive and everyone with the new phone could finally take photos. We did not have 50MP and dimensions were just fine to be able to clearly distinguish the objects. A couple of decades ago that was an innovation, and I was fascinated by it. Since then, I never walked without a camera in my hands and took hundreds, thousands of photographs, whatever it was.

My very first SRL Canon that I got for my 14th birthday would allow me to bring my creative ideas into the digital format. For the last 10 years, I´ve photographed innumerable portraits, cities, landscapes, lifestyle, objects, architecture, travels, reportage, created videos from across the globe. I could sit for hours without moving my head away from the monitor selecting the best shots and editing videos. It could not be enough, and it still has not changed for me.

Every day, wherever I go, I take photographs of beautiful places, objects, and people. It feels like there is no limit to learning and exploring photography, its history and masters, old and new techniques as well as all the creative possibilities out there. It just cannot get boring, the whole world is a playground.

I love different genres of photography but candid shots took a special place in my heart. I believe that even such a cold, metal instrument as a camera could capture real emotions and feelings forever, when in the right hands. Letting others see themselves from a new perspective, explore their essence, personality and identity is what keeps my photography going, today and as long as I´m alive. I would like to keep my focus on portrait photography together with fashion and editorials.
